Corewell Health is transitioning from VMWare Horizon Client to Citrix for managing virtual desktop access. This change aims to unify the virtual desktop infrastructure platforms and will briefly impact access to some workstations. All Corewell Health East team members who use clinical workstations are impacted.
Clinical workstations, known as shared or Imprivata devices will require an automatic reboot to transition to Citrix.
- A reboot required prompt will appear 10 minutes before the automatic reboot and cannot be postponed.
- During the update process, workstations will reboot multiple times and may take several minutes to complete.
To minimize disruptions, workstation updates will occur in a staggered approach between 8 a.m. and 11:59 p.m., ensuring that not all workstations at a given location are updated at the same time.
- Monday, Dec. 2 – Taylor, Trenton, Wayne and Canton Emergency Department
- Tuesday, Dec. 3 – Grosse Pointe, Farmington Hills and Dearborn
- Wednesday, Dec. 4 – Troy
- Wednesday Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 8 – Royal Oak
