Performed on the first Friday of the month at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Care Center.

How it works
If your child’s primary care physician refers your child for a qualified procedure, please call 248.551.2400, option #2, to schedule a date for the consultation and potential surgery on the same day.
Pre-surgery consultation: On the day of your visit you will meet the surgeon who will evaluate your child and confirm the diagnosis. They will also discuss the recommendations, surgery and recovery with you in detail.
Surgery: If the surgeon confirms that surgery is the best next step, your child will be prepared for surgery. You will be able to stay with your child until surgery and join them again in recovery.
Recovery and discharge: The surgeon and care team will meet with you after surgery to discuss the surgery and post-operative care and expected recovery.
The day after surgery: The anesthesia team will call to check in on your child and family.
Eligible procedures
- Circumcision ≥ 12 months old.
- Inguinal hernia ≥ 12 months old, ≤ 13 years old.
- Testicular hydrocele ≥ 12 months old, ≤ 13 years old.
- Umbilical hernia ≥ 3 years old.
- Epigastric hernia ≥ 3 years old.
