On May 29, East team members will notice minor changes to patient labels and wristbands. These changes address feedback received regarding legibility of certain numbers and to help improve patient safety.
Who's impacted
This impacts all Corewell Heath East locations and patient care team members as well as a small subset of South and West locations using Zebra printers.
Inpatient labels and adult wristbands have been standardized across all Corewell Health East hospitals. The font on the inpatient label and adult patient wristband will change to improve numeric clarity.
- For a small subset of Corewell Health West and South locations, the font on the Zebra Printers will change to match Corewell Health East and to increase numeric clarity.
- Zebra Printers are currently only rolled out at some locations but will become more widely used as Intermec printers run through their life cycles.
- Infant and pediatric wristbands for Corewell Health East locations
- Labels and wristbands printed from non-Zebra printers, such as Intermec printers
- Corewell Health South sheet printed inpatient labels
- Infant and pediatric wristbands for Corewell Health East locations
- Labels and wristbands printed from non-Zebra printers, such as Intermec printers
- Corewell Health South sheet printed inpatient labels
These changes will roll out May 29.
