Beaumont Health now offers the option for all Beaumont team members and eligible community members to choose which shot (Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson) they want for their optional COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, regardless of which vaccine type they received for their full dosing regimen. For example, if you received the Pfizer vaccine for your first two shots, you could receive the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine for your optional booster shot. This decision is based on the recent announcement from the FDA and CDC who approved mixing and matching dosing for booster shots for all health care workers and other eligible individuals.
Note: Beaumont will not offer the Johnson & Johnson booster shot in the Beaumont vaccine clinics. Booster shots for team members and eligible community members are by appointment only on a first scheduled, first served basis. Beaumont will not be accepting walk-ins.
Beaumont team members: Scheduling your optional booster shot
Team members who have received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least six months ago, or at least two months ago for the single Johnson & Johnson shot, may schedule their Pfizer or Moderna booster shot appointment online. Remember to bring your vaccination card to your booster dose appointment.
Community members: Booster shot scheduling
Please direct those who are eligible and interested in a third dose to register online (they will be asked to sign in to their myBeaumontChart to schedule), follow the step-by-step instructions and to bring their vaccination card to their third dose appointment.
Again, appointment spots are limited and Beaumont encourages individuals to choose the soonest, most convenient opportunity available — whether at a local pharmacy, retail outlet, Beaumont facility or other location — to receive recommended vaccinations to protect themselves, their families and the community from COVID-19.
Visit the CDC website for the most up-to-date eligibility criteria.
