Physicians can make appointments for optional COVID-19 vaccine booster

Beaumont Health is now offering a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on a limited basis, by appointment only (a myBeaumontChart account is required) to eligible community members, as outlined by the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The COVID-19 vaccine booster shot is available for the following Pfizer vaccine recipients who received their second dose at least six months ago:

  • 65 years and older
  • 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
  • 18+ who work in high-risk settings
  • 18+ who live in high-risk settings

Visit the CDC website for the most up-to-date eligibility criteria.

In addition, people with moderately to severely compromised immune systems may receive an additional dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least 28 days after their second dose.

Please direct those who are eligible and interested in a third dose to register online (they will be asked to sign in to their myBeaumontChart to schedule), follow the step-by-step instructions and to bring their vaccination card to their third dose appointment. Beaumont will not be accepting walk-ins for third dose appointments.

Again, appointment spots are limited and Beaumont encourage individuals to choose the soonest, most convenient opportunity available — whether at a local pharmacy, retail outlet, Beaumont facility or other location — to receive recommended vaccinations to protect themselves, their families and the community from COVID-19.

Beaumont team members: Optional COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine booster shot

The optional COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine booster shot is still available by appointment only on a first scheduled, first served basis to Beaumont team members who received the full dosing regimen of the vaccine. This decision is based on the recent announcement from the FDA and CDC who approved only the Pfizer booster shot for all health care workers and other eligible individuals.

Team members who have received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago, may schedule a booster shot appointment onlineNote: This is a different scheduling process than the public.
