Updated visitation guidelines go into effect Tuesday, May 25, at 8 a.m., Beaumont Health announces 403(b) match for 2020 contributions, Reminder: Airway management STAT code delayed

Updated visitation guidelines go into effect Tuesday, May 25, at 8 a.m.

Effective tomorrow, we’re welcoming one support person at a time regardless of vaccination status — to visit patients at Beaumont Health acute care campuses who do not have or are not suspected of having COVID-19. Support persons may alternate during the day, exchanging in the lobby or outside the acute care campus, up to three exchanges per day. Stay up-to-date by reviewing the COVID-19 visitation staff guidelines

Masks must be worn by everyone, regardless of vaccination status. In addition, each support person will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the building. Every support person must also be free of COVID-19 symptoms and cannot be waiting for COVID-19 test results.

Please continue directing patients and their families to visit beaumont.org, which will be updated tomorrow morning to reflect the most current visitation information.

Beaumont Health announces 403(b) match for 2020 contributions

Beaumont CEO John Fox recently announced that Beaumont Health will provide a 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan matching contribution for those who contributed to the plan in 2020. Employees who participate in the 403(b) plan will receive 50 cents on the dollar, up to the first 4% of pay contributed last year.

Beaumont’s matching contribution was deposited in eligible employees’ Fidelity accounts last week. Please see plan details regarding eligibility.

For example, an employee making $50,000 a year contributes $2,000 — which is 4% of his or her pay. Beaumont will contribute a match of $1,000. If that employee had contributed 2% of his or her pay — which equals $1,000 — Beaumont will contribute $500.

What this means for you

If you contributed 4% or more of your pay to your retirement savings account in 2020: You are one of the nearly 75% of employees who participated in the 403(b) plan who will receive the maximum Beaumont matching contribution. With more funds in your account, this is a great time for you to review how your account is being invested and consider whether you should make changes to your mix of investment options based on your goals. You may also want to consider increasing your contribution for 2021.

If you contributed less than 4% of your pay to your account in 2020: You will also earn a Beaumont matching contribution. However, to receive the maximum matching contribution from Beaumont, you may want to consider increasing your contributions this year to at least 4% of your pay. Contributions are not taxed (except contributions to the Roth option). To increase your contribution, visit the Fidelity section on experienceBeaumont or call the Beaumont Health Retirement Service Center at Fidelity Investments at 866-866-3818.

If you couldn’t contribute in 2020: It’s not too late to begin contributing for 2021. Starting small is better than not starting at all. Visit the Fidelity section on experienceBeaumont or call the Beaumont Health Retirement Service Center at Fidelity Investments at 866-866-3818.

Reminder: Airway management STAT code delayed

The name change from Anesthesia STAT to Airway Management STAT is delayed until June 7, so additional safety issues can be addressed. However, all team members should use the stat lines for codes. Call your site’s emergency phone number to contact the operator. This must be the first and primary tool for calling for a STAT emergency response.
