Local doctor shares why it’s important to stay vigilant as COVID-19 cases climb
Dr. Carl Lauter, Infectious Diseases specialist and director of the division of allergy and immunology at Beaumont, Royal Oak, said he and his wife are continuing to social distance and wear masks, despite being fully vaccinated. “Every one of us has a personal responsibility to get the vaccine, to wear our masks and to be really smart in these waning months of COVID,” Dr. Lauter told C&G News.

Vaccinations available for family members
The health and welfare of our medical staff is critical, which is why we have opened our vaccine clinics to providers’ families and the families of your office staff.
All family members (age 16 and up) who are not vaccinated should call Beaumont’s scheduling line at 1-800-592-4784 for a vaccine appointment at any of our three clinics: Dearborn, Troy and the BSC (as availability allows). The Scheduling Line is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. Alternatively, you can have your family members with an active myBeaumontChart sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine through Beaumont's Save My Shot program at
beaumont.org/covid-vaccine.
Any and all family members are invited, not just those who live with you. So spread the word — tell your friends and neighbors, too — that the COVID-19 vaccine is available through Beaumont.
Don’t worry! If your family members are on our Save My Shot list, we are still actively sending invitations out as availability allows. But given our increased allocation and expansion of eligibility, we want to provide this scheduling number with very little waiting time as a resource to you.
We still have many public appointments available next week between the BSC and Dearborn clinics!
