As part of our ongoing initiative for ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients, Beaumont Health has joined the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC). This membership provides our staff with unlimited access to a wide range of resources that will help us improve the quality of care for our patients with serious illness.
To access these free resources, sign up for a user account by selecting Beaumont from the dropdown menu (and be sure to sign up with your work email address). For assistance in setting up your account, contact membership@capc.org or call 212-201-2674.
CAPC’s online clinical training is designed to enhance your care of patients with serious illness, by providing concrete training in the following competencies:
- managing pain
- managing symptoms, including nausea and vomiting, dyspnea, constipation, anxiety and depression
- communicating effectively with patients and caregivers
- relieving suffering
- preventing crises through whole-patient care
- managing gaps in care
- improving patient and system outcomes
All courses are case-based, interactive and provide free continuing education credits to Beaumont Medical Group physicians who are able to obtain CME credits in pain as well as ABIM MOC credits.
Please contact Dr. Angie Chmielewski or Sara Damiano for any questions related to CAPC or training in primary Palliative Care at 947-522-1949.
