Beaumont to open outpatient care campuses

Beaumont Health plans to develop new, comprehensive outpatient care campuses in northeast Macomb County and western Wayne County in 2020. Groundbreakings will occur next year.

“Our goal is to create one-stop medical destinations with a full array of outpatient services close to where people live, work and play,” Beaumont CEO John Fox said. “We know there is a lot of projected growth in Macomb and Wayne counties, which is why we are targeting those areas.”

The new campuses will provide convenient, direct access to the Beaumont network in growing Southeast Michigan communities. The centers will bring the highly respected brand and quality care delivered by Beaumont physicians and medical experts closer to northeast Macomb County and western Wayne County residents.

“These new campuses will make it easier for our team of experts to share knowledge with each other and collaborate with patients and their families for care that works best for them,” Beaumont Senior Vice President and Associate Chief Medical Officer, Malcolm Henoch, M.D., said.

Patients will be able to schedule appointments online for Beaumont services and physicians on each campus. Test results will also be accessible to patients and care providers via an online portal. Streamlined billing will reduce the number of bills patients receive from their visit to the campus.

Beaumont has partnered with NexCore Group, a national health care real estate developer, to build the campuses. NexCore will handle financing, development, leasing, property management and asset management.

“We have enjoyed a strong collaboration with Beaumont Health,” NexCore Group Managing Partner Jarrod Daddis said. “Our goal is to develop unique and innovative facilities with Beaumont where people will experience care and wellness services in appealing and inviting physical spaces.”

Physicians will have an opportunity to be investors in the ambulatory campuses with the goal of having a long-term connection with Beaumont.

Campuses will offer Beaumont Health affiliated primary and specialty care physicians, emergency care, imaging, outpatient surgery, cancer services, physical therapy and many other services.

“We’ve learned that many of our patients prefer the easy access to care these campuses will provide,” Fox said. “Surgeries and other procedures performed at these locations will typically have lower out-of-pocket costs for consumers than traditional hospital-based services. This is part of our ongoing effort to provide options that support our population health initiatives.”

Focusing on population health involves taking steps to enhance the overall health and wellness of the community.

“Our goal is to create an experience for patients that connects them to the Beaumont network of care and results in integrated and coordinated care that meets our patients’ needs,” Fox added. “The state-of-the-art campuses will put consumers first and will not look or feel like a traditional health care visit.”

The Beaumont Health Network offers access to the highest quality urgent care, primary care and specialists near home or work, so consumers can manage health care for themselves and their families, when and where they need it.
