Last week, U.S. News & World Report released its list of Best Hospitals for 2018-19. Beaumont, Royal Oak earned the ranking of No. 2 statewide. This marks the 24th consecutive year that the hospital has been included in this U.S. News national listing. The hospital also ranked No. 2 in the Metro Detroit area.
Only 3 percent of nearly 4,500 hospitals earned a national ranking in even one specialty, and Beaumont, Royal Oak earned national rankings in nine medical specialties based on objective measures for 2018-19, including:

- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery – No. 18
- Geriatrics – No. 30
- Nephrology – No. 40
- Neurology & Neurosurgery – No. 25

- Urology – No. 26
In addition to the national rankings, Beaumont, Royal Oak earned national “high performing” Common Adult Procedures & Conditions ratings in:
