Help your patients manage diabetes

Beaumont offers diabetes programs and services throughout Metro Detroit for people interested in preventing type 2 diabetes or improving the self-management of their diabetes. In Wayne County, programs are offered in Detroit, Dearborn, Grosse Pointe, Inkster, Taylor and the city of Wayne. Oakland County programs are in Lake Orion, Novi, Oak Park and Troy.

The three programs include: a 16-week Diabetes Prevention Program, a six-week Diabetes Personal Action Toward Health and a six-week Cooking Matters EXTRA for Diabetes workshop.

The Diabetes Prevention Program is a research-based program for those who want to prevent Type 2 diabetes. This program focuses on lifestyle changes related to healthy eating, physical activity, problem solving and coping skills. DPATH is designed to provide skills and tools to help people living with Type 2 diabetes and their support system live a healthier life. The Cooking Matters hands-on workshop provides recipes and information on the link between nutrition and health. For patient information, print this and for upcoming program offerings, click here.
