The staff at Beaumont Hospital, Trenton are excited to announce they now have FibroScan, Downriver’s first non-invasive measurement tool for assessing and monitoring liver disease.
FibroScan is an advancement in liver monitoring. It is the first FDA-cleared device that aids in the clinical management of patients with liver disease. The scan only takes 10-15 minutes and is completely painless.
The tool is designed to help physicians make informed treatment decisions with our patients. It reduces the number of elastographies and biopsies done, which can be both costly and invasive.
It is standard for non-invasive liver assessment of steatosis and fibrosis in certain liver conditions, such as:
- fatty liver/NAFLD
- cirrhosis
- NASH
- hepatitis B and C
If you have patients who could benefit from FibroScan, contact that Beaumont Outpatient Imaging Center at 734-362-0900 or fax your referral to 734-362-0911. After the center receives your referral, your patient will be contacted directly to schedule an appointment. You will be sent a final report within 48 hours of exam completion.
