Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak again earned national recognition by U.S. News & World Report in nine medical specialties in “America’s Best Hospitals” rankings released today. The Beaumont, Royal Oak hospital ranked No. 2 in Michigan and No. 2 in Metro Detroit. This marks the 23rd consecutive year Beaumont, Royal Oak has been included in this national listing by U.S News. Six Beaumont hospitals, including Royal Oak, also received 'high performing' ratings for common adult procedures and conditions.

Only 3 percent of the nearly 4,500 hospitals analyzed for Best Hospitals 2017-18 earned a national ranking in even one specialty. In 12 specialties, the top 50 hospitals are ranked based on objective measures. Four additional specialties are based on a reputational survey, with fewer hospitals ranking on reputation.

Beaumont Hospital, Troy earned “high-performing” rankings in six medical specialties: Diabetes & Endocrinology; Gastroenterology & GI Surgery; Geriatrics; Neurology & Neurosurgery; Orthopedics; and Pulmonology. It is ranked No. 6 in Michigan and No. 4 in Metro Detroit.
Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn, is one of four hospitals ranked No. 15 in Michigan and one of three hospitals ranked No. 9 in Metro Detroit.
Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe earned “high-performing” rankings in three medical specialties: Geriatrics; Orthopedics and Pulmonology. It is one of four hospitals ranked No. 15 in Michigan and one of three hospitals ranked No. 9 in Metro Detroit.
In addition, six Beaumont hospitals earned at least one national “high performing” Common Adult Procedures & Conditions rating.

The U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings, now in its 28th year, help guide patients to hospitals that deliver care across 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. The Best Hospitals methodologies include objective measures such as patient survival, the number of times a given procedure is performed, infection rates, adequacy of nursing staff and more.
