New changes to digital breast tomosynthesis
Digital breast tomosynthesis is our latest tool in diagnosing breast cancer. Until recently, many insurance companies still considered it to be experimental and were not covering the charges. Beaumont wanted to offer this cutting-edge technology to its patients, so it offered the treatment at no charge since 2015.
Today, DBT is widely accepted and recognized as another mammography option for women. Just as the industry has changed, so have the policies of insurance companies. Many are now reimbursing for DBT.
