Important update about Anesthesia Services
Monday, June 26, 2023
We are transitioning to an employed model for our anesthesia services. As of Jan. 1, 2024, NorthStar Anesthesia will no longer provide anesthesia and pain services to the seven hospitals it currently serves. Independent physicians serving our Farmington Hills campus will continue doing so.
We believe this is the time to bring this service line in-house. This transition will strengthen our health care environment and patient experience. We will offer Corewell Health positions to current NorthStar Anesthesia team members who would like to continue serving our patients and communities.
David Warsing, our new vice president of service line operations, and Dr. Timothy Lyons, president of our Grosse Pointe campus, will co-lead our new anesthesia program. Both have extensive anesthesiology experience. Warsing comes to us from the University of Washington, where he made significant contributions to the anesthesiology field. He has a strong track record of navigating management of anesthesia services. Dr. Lyons, a practicing anesthesiologist, served as Adventist Health St. Helena medical director of Anesthesia for 20 years before joining us last year.
Information related to Corewell Health East employment opportunities for CRNAs and anesthesiologists will be emailed on Wednesday. Our goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible.
As always, thank you for everything you do to support our patients and each other.
