Masking recommended in all areas; meetings at 50% room capacity; and more
With the increase in the seven-day positivity rates and county community levels (Macomb County at 12.98%, Oakland County at 14.25% and Wayne County at 6.23%), effective immediately, Beaumont Health strongly recommends masking in all areas, including non-clinical, non-public areas. We must trust one another to do the right thing with integrity when it comes to masking.
As a reminder, masks continue to be required in clinical areas, regardless of vaccination status. Clinical areas include common areas such as hallways, nursing stations, cafeterias, elevators, and waiting rooms within clinical buildings. Remember to continue practicing hand hygiene with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer and take additional precautions while in your communities to further reduce the spread of infection.
Additionally, in-person meetings must now be adjusted to 50% of the room capacity and virtual interviews are encouraged. At this time, visitation restrictions are unchanged.
We will continue to monitor COVID-19 transmission and follow guidelines set by Infection Prevention & Epidemiology. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate a new phase of the pandemic that will require us to be flexible as COVID-19 cases rise and fall within our communities.
