Leading Forward Together
In early 2020, we selected Leading Forward Together as the theme for the June Symposium. Clairvoyance and prescience were not intended, but in March, the first known COVID-19 patient presented at Beaumont, Dearborn and the event had to be canceled.
Since then, we have worked together as never before. Kindness, professionalism, courage, dedication and creativity were daily prerequisites for the survival of our patients, our families and each other. Leadership was no longer based on a title or assignment. It became a necessity for all of us in the hospital, in our offices, at home and in our communities. Staying together while keeping apart emerged as the new mantra.
Fortunately, due to extraordinary commitment and innovation, we can finally reconvene in a beautiful setting to learn and laugh together. Once again, we have attracted an esteemed faculty, including Dr. Ora Pescovitz, president of Oakland University.
This year, the program includes wide-ranging topics that are relevant, engaging and not focused on the pandemic. While the outstanding CME program changes every year, the enjoyment of participating in non-medical activities with colleagues and families remains the cornerstone of this event. In preparation, we recommend that you begin an exercise and diet program immediately! Please take advantage of this unique opportunity to spend a few days creating lifetime memories, reconnecting with old friends or making new ones (the kids always do). It’s time to get back to normal!
Hope to see you there.
