Federal forgiveness of student loans is now available

As a full-time employee of Beaumont Health, you may qualify for having your student loans forgiven through the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. To support you managing your student loans, and ensure you are meeting the PSLF eligibility requirements, a centralized Beaumont Health web page provides resources with additional information and details.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, you may qualify for the PSLF program if you meet the following criteria:

• hold non-defaulted loans under the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program
• have made or are making 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan
• work full-time (greater than forty hours) for Beaumont Health or another qualified employer

If you have student loans, and believe you may qualify for the PSLF program now or in the future, we recommend the following next steps:

1. Visit the Beaumont Pay and Benefits Resource Center website at https://payandbenefitsresourcecenter.com/ for more detailed information on the PSLF program.
2. Complete the certification form provided on the benefits web page. You should submit the Certification Form each year while you are making your qualifying payments to ensure you are meeting all program requirements.
   • Sections 1 and 2: Complete with your personal information.
   • Section 3: The certification form has a partially completed Section 3 with Beaumont information. Please complete the remaining items with your personal information.
   • Section 4: Submit your form with Sections 1-3 completed to tuitionreimbursement@beaumont.org. An HR representative will complete section four.
   • Once you have received your completed form from HR, mail or fax it to the address provided on the form.

Please note that there is ongoing uncertainty with the federal government’s Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Beaumont is monitoring the status of PSLF, and will provide updates on our Pay and Benefits Resource Center website, as necessary.
