Updated visitation guidelines
With the executive order issued in June, by the director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and Governor Gretchen Whitmer, new COVID-19 Visitation Guidelines at Beaumont Health are in effect.
FACE MASKS
Everyone visiting must wear a face mask covering the nose and mouth at all times. Any person refusing to wear a mask will not be allowed to visit. If a person is wearing a mask with a one-way vent, an ear loop mask must replace the vented mask or may be worn over the vented mask.† Ear loop masks will be provided at each entrance if you do not have one. When needed, additional PPE will be provided by Beaumont and must be worn at all times.
The CDC does not recommend using one-way valves or vented masks as they do not prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Anyone wearing these types of masks into a Beaumont facility will be asked to cover them with a standard ear-loop mask.
SAFE VISITATION PRACTICES
- Practice social distancing, keeping 6 feet from others at all times. A person visiting may be asked to leave a care area if safety or social distancing cannot be maintained.
- If visiting an inpatient, stay in the patient’s room at all times except for quick trips to the bathroom or to purchase food.
- Eating is discouraged during your visit since masks must be removed to eat. However if you must eat while visiting, ask staff where it is safe to do so.
- Clean hands upon entry and exit to any patient care area.
- Disposable gloves must be removed and thrown away.
- Leave the Beaumont facility immediately after the visit is over.
- Learn more about how Beaumont is keeping patients safe.
COVID-19 SYMPTOM SCREENINGS
Each person will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the facility. Every person visiting must be free of COVID-19 symptoms, COVID-19 diagnosis and must not be waiting for COVID-19 test results.
- Each person visiting must complete a COVID-19 screening upon each visit.
- People screening positive will not be allowed to visit.
- People screening negative will be given a sticker that must be worn at all times.
