Process Change: Corewell Health East Radiology
To improve patient, physician and APP experience for radiology scheduling across Corewell Health East, we are working to centralize, standardize and automate the current operating model to reduce appointment cancellations. Please review the Corewell Health East Process Change FAQ.
A high volume of imaging appointments are being cancelled monthly because orders are not in place in time for patients’ appointments. This is not only affecting the patient experience but is resulting in delay in care. This also leads to confusion and last-minute rushes in the practice. Here is our recommendation:
- If you are faxing imaging orders because you are using a non-Epic EMR, beginning Feb. 1, 2023, our new transcription team will be accepting orders through one centralized fax number.
Post this new fax number where it is easily accessible to you and your
- Fax must include:
- Patient name
- Date of birth
- Test/procedure ordered
- Valid ICD-10 diagnosis code
- Ordering physician’s signature
If you are currently using Epic Community Connect or myBeaumontConnection to place orders, please continue to submit your orders electronically.
If you have Epic Community Connect and are still faxing orders, please switch to the process of submitting orders electronically. If you need support to make this transition, please contact Christopher Oskoian, IT Physician Services, at email@example.com.
Please continue to fax orders even when providing paper scripts. A patient can still arrive with the paper order and will not be turned away.
