It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Dr. Michael R. Brennan as the head of the Section of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Department of Internal Medicine at Beaumont, Royal Oak.

Dr. Brennan earned his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. He subsequently completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Beaumont, Royal Oak, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology at Henry Ford Hospital. He also holds a master’s degree in epidemiology from Michigan State University. Dr. Brennan returned to Beaumont in 2012 as head of the Section of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine at Beaumont, Grosse Pointe. In this role, he has helped lead Beaumont, Grosse Pointe to be recognized as one of the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for diabetes and endocrinology, achieving a ranking of 19^th nationally in 2019, and he and his colleagues at Beaumont Endocrine Center, St. Clair Shores also received the 2019 State of Michigan Governor’s Award for outstanding achievement in improving diabetes management. He received the inaugural Physician of Distinction award from Beaumont, Grosse Pointe, and he is a graduate of the Beaumont Physician Leadership Academy.

Widely recognized as an enthusiastic and dedicated educator, Dr. Brennan serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He will also continue in his roles as a physician informaticist and as the chair of the corporate nutrition committee for Beaumont. A passionate advocate for our patients with endocrine disorders, in his new role as section head at Beaumont, Royal Oak, Mike will gain broader influence as he advances his mission of improving care in these areas and beyond across Beaumont.
