Seeking Beaumont Medical Group President

After serving as interim president of Beaumont Medical Group, David Wood, M.D. is stepping down from this position to focus on his role as executive vice president and chief medical officer of Beaumont Health.

To fill the vacancy, BMG is seeking a president who will be accountable for developing initiatives that promote high performance standards that enable success and effectiveness in clinical care, education, research, financial and operational performance, while operating within Beaumont Values of Compassion, Respect, Integrity, Excellence and Teamwork.

Working under the direction of the Beaumont Health chief medical officer, with a dyadic partnership with the BMG senior vice president and executive director, Jonathan Maner, the president will develop, implement and monitor the BMG strategic plan to effectively contribute to the organizational goal of becoming a leader in health care reform.

The president of BMG will collaborate with both divisional and system leads, including hospitals and clinical care programs, to achieve both the goals of BMG and Beaumont Health. With a total expense budget of $500M with 2,000 FTEs, the president will promote novel programs to lead the clinical enterprise into value-based care.

Education/Training

  • doctor of Medicine – M.D. or D.O. required
  • advanced business degree preferred

Work Experience

  • minimum of 10 years of progressive physician practice/medical group operations and management/leadership experience
  • demonstrated record of accomplishment in achieving operating goals
  • experience collaborating with board members, employed physicians and community leaders
  • demonstration of resolving personnel and complex situations

Certification, Licensure, Registration

  • active medical license to practice in the state of Michigan
  • in good standing with the national board of their specialty
