Farmington Hills now offers '7 for $70'
Beaumont’s “7 for $70” heart and vascular screening is now available at Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills for the first time. Heart tests are one of the most common ways people can find out about their overall cardiovascular fitness, or if there are concerns requiring more testing and follow-up.
The cost-effective, comprehensive screening is $70 and has been designed to identify risk factors and help clinicians recommend next steps to improve heart and vascular health.
The screening includes seven tests:
- blood pressure measurement
- body mass index, BMI, measurement
- 12-lead electrocardiogram, or EKG
- stroke screening/carotid artery ultrasound
- abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound
- peripheral artery disease screening
- blood cholesterol and hemoglobin A1C measurements: Blood work is optional. If you chose not to have it, the cost of the remaining six screening tests would be $50.
The tests are read by board-certified Beaumont physicians. The results and a follow-up letter are sent to patients to share with their primary care physician to determine follow-up care.
“Beaumont's ‘7 for $70’ heart and vascular screening is a great way to find out if you, or someone you love, is at risk for heart disease,” said Heather Glover, RN, director of Cardiology Services at Beaumont, Farmington Hills. “Better management of heart health can help with overall risk factors, leading to a heart health plan created with your primary care physician. For example, patients’ primary care physicians might prescribe cardiac rehabilitation to help reduce patients’ risk of future heart problems.”
