Starting this month, Information Technology will begin a new initiative to patch application servers more frequently. A patch is an update that addresses security vulnerabilities within a program. The timing of these patches will be done in coordination with application owners to limit the potential impact on patients and application users. 

Application owners have been invited to Teams meetings for their specific server maintenance. They will then notify those potentially impacted by server maintenance. For questions about these meetings, application owners should contact Tim Cooper. 

"Increasing the frequency of our server patching is extremely important - not only to protect us against exploits by malware and hackers but also to keep our systems stable and reliable," said Steve Meyer, director, IT end user experience.
