Be a beacon of hope — donate at a Beaumont blood drive

Beaumont Health team members can help reduce blood shortages by donating at a Versiti — Beaumont Health’s exclusive provider of blood products — blood drive hosted at our acute care campuses in May.

Blood donation fact:
According to the American Cancer Society, more than 1.9 million people will be diagnosed with cancer in 2021. Many of them will require blood transfusions during their chemotherapy treatment.

The donation process usually takes one hour, including registration, a brief medical screening and blood collection. Donors must show a photo ID. Versiti reminds donors that blood donation is safe as they take extra precautions to thoroughly disinfect areas before, during and after each donation.

To make an appointment, call 866-MI-BLOOD. Walk-ins are welcome if the schedule permits. For more information, visit versiti.org.

Versiti requires you to wait 48-hours prior to donating blood if you received the first or second COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 antibody testing will be performed on all successful donations. Donors can view their results in their Wellness profile on the Versiti webpage. Results can take up to three weeks.
