Act Now: Update Citrix Workspace by Tuesday, Jan. 16, to ensure access to BHApps

Citrix enhancements will be made on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Anyone using personal devices that are not on the minimum required Citrix version will be unable to access applications in BHApps.

Citrix Workspace is the system used to remotely access applications hosted on BHApps.

Corewell Health team members (including Community Connect and Ambulatory) who access applications through BHApps on non-Corewell Health managed devices

Complete the steps below on your personal device(s) by Tuesday, Jan. 16.

  • If the personal device has the minimum required version listed below, there is no additional action.

In the Notification Area in the lower right corner, right click on the Workspace icon, then select Advanced Preferences. The version is in the About section. To check for updates, click Check for Updates.

Open Citrix Workspace. On the Menu Bar, click Citrix Workspace, then About Citrix Workspace. To check for updates, click Help, then Check for Updates.
iPhone

Open the App Store, search for Citrix Workspace. If there is an update available and it’s installed, tap Update.
Android

Open Google Play, search for Citrix Workspace. If there is an update available and it’s installed, tap Update.

 

It is the team member's responsibility to keep the Citrix Workspace version installed on personal devices up to date. 

  • Team members using Corewell Health managed devices will automatically receive updates as needed.

Community Connect and Ambulatory offices may need to contact their IT department to determine their options for updating.

Why this is important

Team members who do not have the minimum required version of Citrix Workspace by Jan. 16 will be unable to access applications through BHApps due to a Citrix update happening on Jan. 17. Team members may also experience delays in receiving support from the Service Desk support after Jan. 17 due to this update.

Digital services may make enhancements and upgrades to BHApps in order to support additional features. Anyone using an outdated Citrix Workspace version will experience errors when connecting to applications in BHApps including, but not limited to:

  • Error messages when launching
  • Sessions disconnecting or reconnecting frequently
  • Overall degraded performance
